Earlier this week Ryan and I were in northern Maryland cleaning out the basement at his parents house. We took a break from cleaning to go outside and kick a soccer ball back and forth. It felt so amazing to be outside in the fresh air. Just before the sunset, I pulled a blanket out there while Ryan was wrapping things up. I stole a quiet moment alone to lay in the grass and look up through the trees, into the sky. It was a perfect and peaceful moment.
I wish I could go back to that exact place in time but the memory of it has been a comfort since being back in the city and being back at work. It was the kind of happy moment that makes everything seam bearable.
